What is MES?

A Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is software directly interfaced with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, facilitating the management of production lines. In direct communication, the ERP continuously communicates with the MES, providing operators with all the necessary information on their tablets for task execution (operating procedures, plans, technical specifications, defect data). The MES also communicates with the ERP and allows for the reporting of production information (production time, downtime). Once the information is processed, the software can provide real-time indicators for clear reporting, enabling more precise monitoring of activities and production line performance. As part of the Aeronautical Recovery Plan, FACTEM has chosen the AQUIWEB solution for its MES."

What is Industry 4.0?

Industry 4.0 corresponds to the fourth industrial revolution. Its goal is to improve management and decision-making within companies through the interconnectivity of digital systems. Preceded by three other major industrial revolutions, from mechanization to mass production, to the digitalization of production lines, this latest evolution is based on Machine Learning and artificial intelligence.

The gains of an Industry 4.0 enterprise:

Established for years as an industry 3.0 in the aerospace, maritime, and both civilian and military land sectors, it is thanks to this new investment that FACTEM aims to evolve and achieve the status of a connected industry 4.0. The goal is simple: to improve the productivity of production lines and the quality of products. This goal can be achieved through MES, which will support FACTEM in its continuous improvement efforts. Finally, MES will enable FACTEM to meet the most stringent requirements of major clients in the aerospace industry. The next step: training all employees on the production lines at our Bayeux facility.
